Licensed Professional Counselor in Arvada, CO

Working with you on being the best version of yourself...

is the best job I have ever had. Therapy requires me to use my whole self: my intellect, emotion, and personality to do good work and I hope to engage you in the process on all of these levels too. I am constantly blown away by the bravery and determination it takes to go against the taboo and actually talk about yourself, your pain, your shame, and dare to keep fighting for a better future, even when it feels far away. I am good at making vulnerability feel more comfortable, and I show up with my genuine personality when I meet with you.

  • I believe good therapy happens on two levels: the skill level and the relationship level. I wish there was a class in school on coping skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships - the basic building blocks of being a happy and healthy human, but often times there just isn’t. So I believe part of my job is not just to listen (although this is important), but to provide the information you need so you can build the skills you might not have yet. That’s the first level. The second level is much deeper. I believe much of our “damage” mentally happens in relationships and is healed through supportive relationships as well. The most important part of my job is building a real and supportive connection with you, so you can experience what it feels like to have a good relationship with yourself.

  • My style is good-humored and direct. There is plenty of unsolicited advice out there in the world - I won't give you feedback without asking first, but I won't let you flounder to find what to talk about either. We're in this together. We'll practice self-compassion, relationship skills, and coping strategies to help you heal and feel whole.

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and received my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University.

The Process

  • Consultation

I like to talk with you on the phone before meeting to get a better sense of what you are looking for and how I can help. We’ll chat for 15 minutes and then schedule your first appointment if it feels like a good fit.

  • First session

I have you fill out all paperwork and assessments prior to the first session so we can spend that full time getting to know each other and your situation. We will make a plan for frequency of meeting and reaching your goals.

  • Ongoing Therapy

We spend the first 15 minutes or so of each session checking in about any current issues (or successes) and then use the remaining time to discuss deeper issues.
